brrrrr
Davis Campaign
It's been a while since I've had a chance to update on here, and I'm feeling at this point that I've finally recovered from the whirlwind that is life on the campaign trail.
I've been photographing TX politics for a few years now, but earlier this year, I had the unique opportunity to switch from the news side of things to actually working as a staff campaign photographer. I traveled with Sen. Wendy Davis as she ran for governor of TX, and it was a great experience to get to be a part of the team. Some of those photos can be found here.
This was the longest I've lived on the road for work (five months) and I learned so much (especially how to pack all my gear into the tiniest bags possible!). It was exhilarating & exhausting and I'm so glad I did it.
prison yoga
I recently photographed a story for The Texas Tribune/NY Times. The article came out this past week here and here. I was especially excited to cover this assignment because I've spent the last 8 months practicing yoga at a studio near my home here in Dallas. It was interesting to see the guys learning the same poses I've been practicing!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
..... in Maine.
We've had some unusually icy weather here in Dallas over the past couple days. Much colder than we're used to in this neck of the woods! Downtown is completely covered in ice and strangely quiet.
