I recently did a portrait of Michael Veale for D Magazine. Read the article here.
Holiday Party, Dec. 2015
'Tis the season.... of painfully long holiday events.
Schoolchildren wait for Hillary Clinton to speak in Dallas on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015.
WIRED - Supernatural Expo on the blog
WIRED photo blog recently featured my photo essay on the Lewisville Supernatural Expo. The photos & interview can be viewed here.
Sarah at the quarry
Sarah and I went to the famous Dallas Quarry (actually in McKinney, TX) for a quick portrait & exploration. Beautiful water... but hard to believe people cliff-jump into there!
The Dark Side of Medical Marijuana's Miracle Drug
Some photos I took earlier this summer for Buzzfeed News were recently run in a fascinating and extensive article on the failures and triumphs of medical marijuana. I spent the day with a local DFW family whose lives were changed by CBD - check out the images and article here.
Trump Stumping
American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX. September 14th, 2015.
Football Minus Football
I had a recent assignment to shoot a some local Friday Night Lights (but none of the game!). For those not from Texas, high school football is a BIG DEAL here and the stadium was packed as it was the first game of the season. Here's a few selects from the evening.
Ted Cruz in FW
A selection of images from Ted Cruz's presidential campaign rally in Fort Worth, Texas on Sep. 3, 2015.
#BlackLivesMatter
A few images for a rally outside Arlington Police Department protesting the recent death of college student, Christian Taylor.
Spotted today in Fort Worth
I covered a protest today for a print publication and there were some protesters who were really committed to their fashion choices despite the 100 degree heat (full suits and knee-high pleather boots).
Ah, the fresh smell of campaign.
It's been a while since I left the state-wide campaign trail, but Presidential hopefuls are starting to visit Texas. I enjoy the challenge of trying to take a new photo in such a highly-orchestrated environment. Also, being around people that are excited about voting is really fun. The story is here at the Texas Tribune. Scroll through the images below to see a few extras.
No Spandex Required
I recently worked with the WSJ on photos for an article on casual cycling. Check out the article here.
Weird Jobs
I was at the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge the other day waiting for some portrait subjects to arrive when I looked up and saw these workers on the very tip top of the bridge. Eek! Best view in Dallas but it's a long, long way down.
WSJ A1
I recently covered the Waco biker-gang shootout for Reuters, and one of my images ended up running on the front page of the Wall Street Journal the following day (5/19)! Very exciting, and it's certainly my favorite image from the event as well. Per usual, access is very restricted for press around a crime scene, so I was happy to stumble upon these two lookouts under the Twin Peaks sign while no other photographer were around.

Dancing Dallas Debutantes
New Yorker
Tap Dazzlers
Over the last few weeks, I spent a little time with Dallas' premier senior ladies dance troupe, the Tap Dazzlers. The average dancer in the group is 65 (minimum age is 45). I even met one dancer who's soon to be 90! They're a truly talented group and they have an inspiring practice.
